Or is the stock feeling pretty good these days?
For some users, Android 12 really brought back the classic customization experience that has always been a defining part of Google’s mobile OS. Material You can serve as a great start, but if you want to make your phone your own then turning to a custom launcher is a solid bet. But as Android has evolved into a more mature operating system, it’s easy to see a world where many users may be slowly breaking out of their old habits.
Since the launch of Android Police—which turns 12 this week! – We’ve asked our readers over and over again (and again) about their custom launcher habits. As apps like Nova Launcher and Action Launcher have stuck, new competition from Niagara, Lawnchair, and even Microsoft has helped propel the community forward.
