You can set your preferred browser as default on your Windows computer

You can set your default browser from the app itself
Most modern browsers recommend and offer you the possibility to set them as default. If your browser doesn’t notify you, just go to settings or preferences and you’ll find the option to set it as the one you want to use by default:
- In Firefox, for example, you will have to click on the three horizontal lines menu in the upper right corner of the screen. Choose “Options”, and you will see the Make Default button at the top of the page.
- If you use Google Chrome, Click on the three-dot menu in the upper right and click on “Setting”. Then just scroll down a bit and you will see the section “Default browser” in the left panel. - In Microsoft Edge, Click on the menu at the top right of the screen and then choose the option “Setting”. Then click the button “Change my default.”
How to change your default browser in Windows
If you have a Windows computer, you can also set a default browser directly in Windows settings in just a few steps. You will only have to comply with the following steps:
- Open the menu of Windows settings.
- Go to the section Applications.
- There, select Default apps.
- Now, click the button below the section Web navigator. The button is named after the browser that is currently the default.
- You will see the list of all installed browsers appear. Click the one you want set as default, and ready.
- The button will change to show the selected browser and it will be the one that opens by default from now on.

You should note that if you’ve upgraded your PC from Windows 10 to Windows 11, you may have already noticed that when you click a link on a website, PDF document, or other file, you’re now sent to the Microsoft’s Edge browser.
