When was it announced that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness would be directed by Sam Raimi, the Marvel Cinematic Universe fan immediately thought about how the director’s known affinity would lead to a horror-toned vision of the franchise, mindful of its cult like The Army of Darkness And Darkman. Not only did Raimi contribute to this stylistic code of the film, as testified by screenwriter Michael Waldron, who admitted that he was inspired by the mood of Aliens – Final Showdown for a scene from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness: Aliens inspired one of the key scenes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film
During an interview with Rolling Stones, Waldron admitted that one of the film’s most intense scenes was inspired by his vision of Aliens as he wrote the script for the film. The reference is to the scene of the Illuminati massacre, when Wanda unleashes her tremendous power by brutally killing the group of superheroes. According to what the writer admitted, to inspire this sequence of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was Aliens – Final Clash:
“I was watching Aliens a lot while writing, because basically that movie is a thriller with a long chase. I love how Aliens – Final Showdown takes the time to show how the colonial Marines are tough bones, yet get slaughtered. And so we’re completely terrified of xenomorphs for the rest of the film, and that’s exactly what I wanted to do with Wanda at the end of the Illuminati sequence. I hope you have all been scared of Wanda, it was great to be in the room and hear the sighs and the audience. In short, if people hear something while watching a film, it’s a good sign “
Wanda’s actions in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness were certainly accompanied by a component of tremendous power, which peaked when the Scarlet Witch faces the Illuminati, easily being right.
