We’ve taken a look at first-party cases for the Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, but after six months of use and abuse, countless cases and covers, we have a few favorites we’ve identified and think you’ll love. Will like

Not everyone wants to spend $30+ on a smartphone case, and that’s perfectly fine. Because of that, we’ve tested a range of Pixel 6 cases — for the regular and Pro models — at various price points, and we’d recommend an even cheaper option if a similar option exists. All have been tested and play well with most screen protectors as well.

Moose Limitless 3.0

best premium case

Rugged cases are often heavy, cumbersome, and in general quite unattractive. This is not true of the Moose Limitless 3.0 case lineup. The design uses a bouncy cushioning along all sides of your phone chassis to help reduce the impact of even the biggest drops; I can vouch for the security I’ve tested on the Pixel 4 series with the Limitless 3.0 design – it certainly lives up to the outlandish Mous Marketing.

There are raised lips around all sides of your screen, which means laying face down on a table or even dropped means you’ll get a little extra coverage, no matter what angle it’s dropped from. A reinforced frame protects the camera bar from any damage but without obscuring any of the lenses on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. What’s more, the aramid fiber, walnut wood, and leather finish are infused with flavor.

Buried inside the rear panel is a magnetic patch which means you can pair it with other accessories in a similar way to the MagSafe section of the recent iPhone lineup. That means mounts like a card wallet or kickstand are available with impressive full chassis protection. There’s a soft touch fabric lining inside the case and there’s room for two additional SIM cards as well. At around $60, these Pixel 6 cases offer premium protection for your flagship smartphone, but in our experience, the Mous Limitless 3.0 cases are worth every penny.

The Sorta Seafoam Pixel 6’s best companion is the lightweight green Caseology Vault, a silicone case that’s one of our top choices. The textured matte finish feels incredible in person, but this one-piece case belies its modest $13 asking price.

While the sandstone-like rear panel grips, the camera bar and the top of your phone have a textured or hatched finish that completely covers the curved glass of the lens. In my experience, no other case offers the same level of protection for the camera bar and although it looks strange at first – it is striking in itself. All button covers have a slight sandstone texture for added grip, but you still get that satisfying “click” that some other silicone cases can lack.

Spigen Liquid Air

Like the entire Spigen case lineup, the Liquid Air Case is a perfect companion for any smartphone – especially the Pixel 6 series. It’s not just because Spigen makes some great third-party cases for any Android. The pricing is reasonable, and the designs are similar across the entire smartphone series.

The Spigen Liquid Air was basically my own case for several years and with the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, it’s no different. With a tire-like texture, it feels unlike anything else, and as the rubber tire grips the road, you have one of the most attractive surfaces on your Pixel. The recessed power button is another small extra touch that makes the Liquid Air such a great option at just $15.

Otterbox Symmetry

If you choose a colored Pixel 6 model, you probably want to show it off while making sure it’s completely protected. There are several solid clear cases from the likes of Ringke, but the Otterbox Symmetry Case has a super interesting glitter finish that especially brings to life the Pixel 6 Pro’s plain colors.

Not only that because it comes with a solid construction rather than a solid silicone finish. It can easily withstand a drop and should nicely cover all aspects of your Pixel 6 or 6 Pro, including a hard plastic casing for the camera bar. It plays nicely with almost all screen protectors we’ve tried, including the Whitestone Dome Glass – which hasn’t always been the case with Otterbox smartphone cases.

[Update 05/26]: Due to some Pixel 6 owners having issues with discoloration, yellowing, and warping with official TPU cases, we recommend looking at the other options on this list. TPU cases can warp and deform over time but this is not always normal. You can see an example of the problems owners are facing with the Golden Glow Case for Pixel 6 Pro:

We recommend that you opt for the “Stormy Sky” color variant if you intend to buy a first-party official case. It appears to be less susceptible to color discoloration and yellowing, but there you can find warping over time – which is sometimes common with TPU and silicone cases.

As you would expect, Google makes a number of officially branded Pixel 6 cases that are the perfect accompaniment for your smartphone. While by no means the best cases you can buy, at least they are designed to work with your phone and provide protection for all the most important areas.

At $29 for all official Pixel 6 cases, the price is steady but still cheaper than the classic fabric options. However, like any official matter, it must mean something. First, a more precise fit. Secondly, a better grooming tool. The only downside is that all the cases are semi-transparent and have accents of specific device colors. We recommend that you go for the Mute Stormy Sky Smokey Black color if you cannot choose it but it is definitely better to match the color to your phone.

Google is offering a good mix of safety and quality with soft rubberized corners, making each case easy to fit and remove and nothing obstructs access to important ports. Each of Google’s cases feels like an extension of the Pixel 6 design, rather than what the device’s protection should look like.

Google really went all in on the bigger phone with the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. This means that for those with smaller hands, even the so-called “small” Pixel 6 can be a struggle to really manage. Luckily, the Incipio Grip cases for Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are designed to help with that. With the grippy ledges protruding on the sides of your phone, even the larger Pixel 6 Pro is easy to carry and fold in your hands, without slipping or slipping in your palm.

A major bonus of the Incipio Grip over similar grip-oriented cases is that it’s deceptively thin and light; It’s actually made from a firm plastic material that repels dirt, but adds a solid layer of protection that meets the odds on the rubber side. The raised lip around the camera bar looks like it could help increase protection around that all-important back glass section.

Bellroy Leather Case

High-quality leather cases are hard to come by on the Pixel series, but Australian brand Bellroy only has Google-certified options. Our own Ben Schoon said that despite the pickings being slim, the Bellroy leather case is still the best you can buy and for people who love leather products, it’s well worth the $50 entry price.

You get some truly excellent color options, but if you want the patina or wear and shine associated with “real” leather and leather-based materials, Bellroy’s specialty materials don’t distort, crease, or wear in the same way. That said, everywhere it is a win-win with great button covers, precise cutouts and a stunning design that doesn’t get in the way of your prized possession – the Pixel 6.

If you want ultra-lightweight and most importantly affordable protection for your Pixel 6 or 6 Pro, then Anccer Thin Fit Case is going to be a perfect candidate. At just $6 for the Pixel 6 and $8 for the Pro, you’re getting an ultra-thin plastic shell that’ll protect the shape of your phone without breaking the bank.

At only 0.35mm thick, you don’t get the mass of protection and the cutouts for button and port access are huge, but if you only want to protect against superficial damage, there are few better cases for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro Huh. ,
