Announced at the Xbox conference On Sunday evening, new information emerged regarding Ark 2. The new game from Studio Wildcard will arrive in the course of 2023, but the French development team has certainly not held back in the details. On the sidelines of the show, in fact, some information on the combat system was disclosed.
As stated by Studio Wildcard, Ark 2 will not have arcade combat, but it will be more like FromSoftware’s games. To be exact, the development team has reported that the combat system will be very close to what we have seen in the Dark Souls games, but also in Elden Ring and Bloodborne. This is a decidedly complicated style of play, requiring players to pay close attention to enemy patterns and to keep health and obviously stamina under control.
Now, Ark 2 isn’t soulslike and it doesn’t even want to be. It will therefore be difficult to believe that there will be a combat identical to that of FromSoftware games. With this term of comparison, Studio Wildcard probably wanted to warn players about what to expect during their adventure in the new title, which will present a much more complicated combat system than its predecessor (which you can redeem for free on Steam for a short time yet).
In addition to the combat system, Studio Wildcard has also revealed that in the second title of its franchise there will be third-person gameplay with some mechanics like parkour, slides and more. The game promises to be much bigger than its predecessor, but we will only find out more when the title is available. At the moment the release date of Ark 2 is not there yet, but Studio Wildcard plans to launch it by 2023.
