But a statement from Hybe, the South Korean entertainment company behind BTS, said they would still be working on projects as a group as well as individually. “BTS is not taking a hiatus. Members will focus more on solo projects at this time,” the statement said.
No details about future BTS collaborations or solo projects were announced on Tuesday. BTS has a global fan base that follows the group and members online and the group’s profile has grown overseas in recent years. The group recently addressed the United Nations General Assembly and went to the White House to discuss with President Joe Biden on ways to stop violence against Asian Americans.

The band members opened up about their struggle to grow as individual artists within the K-pop genre.
“The problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that doesn’t give you time to mature,” RM said. During the conversation, some members of the group were seen crying.

Band member V recalled a conversation with J-Hope in which he discussed how working on solo projects would improve their “synergy” as a band. Suga described an interest in trying new styles.
“It will take some time for each of us to have fun and experience so many things,” Jungkook told his fans. “We promise that we will someday return more mature than we are now.”
The day before, Jungkook sent a message of love to Instagram, showing a stretch of sandy beach with the words: “BTS Army Forever.”
