A new mobile has been launched in the market, and it is the Poco X4 GT. This device is here to compete with the best examples of the current mid-range, with quite interesting features and specifications that also stand up to those found in the Poco X3 Pro, the mobile with which we compare it below.
The prices indicated in the article could vary over time, so, from tuexperto.com, we limit ourselves to analyzing the differences at the date of publication.
No resemblance on an aesthetic level, except for the screens
Bit X3 Pro
The Poco X3 Pro is a phone that does not stand out for being attractive. Its main camera module is its most important badge in terms of appearance, and boy does it go unnoticed. Of course, we must not put aside the fact that this is totally subjective, but the truth is that the design of this device is not the best of all.
However, what we get with the new Poco X4 GT is something totally different and more stylish, since in this mobile we have a more interesting and modern rear camera system, with two large main sensors. Likewise, these, together with the third trigger, which is smaller, are housed in a rectangular photographic module, in the upper left corner. The camera housing of the Poco X3 Pro, on the other hand, is circular and is in the upper center of the rear panel, as can be seen in its images.
Although both are not at all similar, which is thanks to the aforementioned camera modules that they use, they have the same screen format, since it has a hole in the upper center for the selfie camera and has quite cut bezels. Otherwise, they have practically the same dimensions, but the X4 GT is 15 grams lighter than X3 Pro.
Regarding the specifications of the screens, that of Xiaomi’s Poco X3 Pro is IPS LCD technology and has a diagonal of 6.67 inchesat the same time that it has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, a touch sampling rate of 240 Hz, FullHD + resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels, HDR10 and Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.
The screen of the Poco X4 GT, on the other hand, is also IPS LCD, although slightly smaller, having a size of 6.6 inches. For the rest, this panel is also FullHD + resolution, but somewhat more panoramic, having a configuration of 2,460 x 1,080 pixels. In turn, the refresh rate is 144 Hz, so the movement, the scroll (swipe) and animations are displayed more smoothly on this screen than on the Poco X3 Pro. The other thing is that the touch sampling rate is 270 Hz and there is compatibility with HDR10. The bad thing is that the protection for this screen is somewhat inferior, being in charge of the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass.
Performance is key in both: Qualcomm and Mediatek face each other again
The Poco X3 Pro is a very solvent mobile in terms of performanceAs it features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 860, a 7-nanometer eight-core piece running at a maximum clock speed of 2.96 GHz. Thanks to this piece, the phone is fully capable of running smoothly. , apps and games that are heavy and quite demanding in terms of resources.
Nevertheless, the Poco X4 GT is superior in this section of speed and powerWell, it comes with one of the most recent promises from Mediatek, the Dimensity 8100. This chipset has a node size of 5 nanometers and eight cores that are capable of operating at a maximum clock frequency of 2.85 GHz.
The RAM memory in the first one is 6 or 8 GB and of the LPDDR4 type; in the Poco X4 GT, on the other hand, we only have 8 GB of RAM, but this is LPDDR5. In turn, both one and the other come with a UFS 3.1 type ROM -the fastest up to now- that consists of an internal storage space of 128 or 256 GB. Of course, in the Poco X4 GT said internal memory cannot be expanded through a microSD card, while in the Poco X3 Pro it can.
Different photographic proposals
In the Poco X3 Pro we have four cameras on the back. the main is a 48-megapixel resolution sensor that has an f/1.8 aperture. The other three accompanying shooters are an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and two other 2-megapixel macro and bokeh sensors with f/2.4 aperture each. As for videos, this mobile is capable of recording in 4K resolution at 30 fps (frames per second).
In the Poco X4 GT we find only three sensors on its back. The main one is one of 64 megapixels that has an aperture f / 1.9. The other two sensors are an 8-megapixel wide-angle with f/2.2 aperture and a 2-megapixel macro with f/2.4 aperture. Another thing to note is that this device can also record videos in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second.
For capturing selfie photos, the X3 Pro makes use of a 20-megapixel front sensor with f/2.2 aperture. In the meantime, The front shooter of the X4 GT is also a 20-megapixel shooter with f/2.2 aperture resolution. Both sensors can record videos in FullHD at 30 fps.
Batteries and other features
The battery of the Poco X3 Pro has a capacity of 5,160 mAh and is slightly larger than that of the Poco X4 GT, which has a 5,080 mAh capacity. This makes the X3 Pro has a greater autonomy, at least in theory. However, it does have a 33W fast charge which, while not bad at all, is less than the X4 GT’s 67W.
Regarding other features, only the Poco X4 GT has 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6. The X3 Pro is a bit inferior in this section, as it comes with 4G, Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi ac. What both terminals do share equally is GPS connectivity with A-GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BDS, and NFC, which is used to make contactless mobile payments.
It should also be noted that both have a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port for the charger connector, an infrared sensor for controlling external devices such as TVs and air conditioners, a side-mounted fingerprint reader and Hi-Res certified stereo speakers. Nevertheless, only the Poco X3 Pro comes with FM radio and IP53-grade splash resistance.
It should also be mentioned that the Poco X3 Pro has Android 11 operating system under the MIUI 12.5 interface for POCO, while the X4 GT comes with Android 12 under MIUI 13 for Poco.
Prices, opinion and conclusions: which is better, the Poco X3 Pro or Poco X4 GT?
The current price of the Poco X3 Pro is very varied, but starts at 215 euros. The Poco X4 GT, for its part, has been launched with a promotional price of 300 euros. Then, at the end of this promotion, the 8 GB RAM version with 128 GB internal memory of this device will cost about 350 euros, while the 8 GB RAM version with 256 GB ROM can be obtained with a regular price of about 430 euros on the market.
Now, about which mobile is better and why, the Poco X4 GT is the winner of this comparison, being a more advanced terminal in all sections, but mainly in screens, performance, cameras and batteries. And yes, this phone, having a screen with a higher refresh rate, a more powerful processor for day-to-day use, a more advanced rear camera system and a much faster fast-charging battery, is presented as a better purchase option in 2022, above the Poco X3 Pro, which is also an excellent mid-range. We must also value the fact that it is compatible with 5G networks.
Yes indeed, the Poco X3 Pro comes with splash resistance and FM radio, two things the X4 GT does without. It should also not be ignored that it is considerably cheaper.
