Recently, a user Reddit found a list of extra items for the different editions of the game Hogwarts Legacy, when he viewed the source of the game’s home page. Unfortunately, he was unable to find relevant references to names online, it would seem that no one has mentioned him yet; the user says that he has already discovered it for a while, but that he has only found the time now.
The possibility of a lack of accuracy or correctness of the list is pointed out: things could be changed during development, or they could be simply placeholder elements without concrete plans. The exact names leaking from the source are:
- Thestral mount
- Dark Arts Cosmetic Packs
- 72 hours of early access to the game
- Hat of the dark arts garrison
- Kelpie Robe
- Magic wand with book
- Steel case
There are also some labels separated by “Digital only” or “Deluxe digital only“, But there are no actual details on what extras apply to the different editions of the game.
You can verify the correctness of the elements listed by looking at the source of the web page Hogwarts Legacy, which can only be created or modified by someone who manages the site. But why are they right there? They seem to be present in view of the next release of future editions, so as to provide details on extra objects more or less present.
It is likely that these elements will be removed from the site once its presence has now been highlighted. However, the whole is independently confirmed by a mod subreddit before approval of the post. What to do to see the list?
- Go to the home page of Hogwarts Legacy.
- View the HTML source of the web page (press Ctrl + U).
- Look for one of the listed items so you can find them in the source.
In addition, some speculations about objects are made:
Magic wand with book: definitely a physical object. The name does not really describe what the importance of this object is in-game; the book is certainly an enigmatic element, what does it have to do with the wand? It is thought to be an important part of its story or an element related to the title of the DLC.
“Kelpie Robe” is a digital exclusive or pre-order bonus: probably a digital exclusive item, similar to the playable character of Obi-Wan Kenobi for The Skywalker Saga (at this link the review of the title), available with both editions. It is, however, possible that it could be a pre-order bonus.
The steel caseinstead, it could be a Best Buy exclusive: With Back 4 Blood, for example, one is offered steelbook with the purchase of any edition during a Best Buy.
One wonders, however, if the items are only obtainable with the purchase of the editions or are unlockable in the plot. Avalanche pointed out that the game will not have micro-transactions and the FAQs on the website reiterate this. By sticking to those claims, all DLCs would be free or, at the very least, will be in part.
Remaining realistic, however, the most accredited thesis states that the extra objects of the Hogwarts Legacy DLCs offered with a certain edition, remain anchored to that edition and therefore not available with lower versions of the title and suggests not to hope too much for free DLC.
