Samsung pretty much confirms the Galaxy Z Fold 4 launch event – can you work it out?

Samsung has given the strongest hint yet it is the next generation of foldable phones – the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 – that will launch on August 10.

In a cryptic tweet, Samsung encouraged users to use three images to decode a secret message. “We have a secret to tell you. #SamsungUnpacked,” wrote Samsung.

The tweet also links to the Samsung Unpacked website, where Samsung traditionally announces its flagship products, although it currently redirects to the Samsung mobile site, with no further details about Unpacked. You can check out the tweet below and before we leave the game, we’ll give you a shot at working on it.

It’s definitely not rocket science, all you have to do is match the colored circles with the characters in the previous image. The result is “08 10 22” – August 10 in US date format.

The August 10 date has been tipped several times before, so it all confirms when Samsung will be hosting the launch. However, questions remain regarding the line-up.

While we heavily expect fourth-generation Fold and Flip phones — they’ve replaced the Note as Samsung’s bi-annual flagship launch — we can expect the next-gen Galaxy Watch 5 series as well as the new Galaxy Buds Pro True Wireless. Buds can also be seen. ,

Rest assured, we’ll be covering the live event on August 10th – if that happens to be the day Samsung invites us to attend. It is not yet clear whether Samsung will opt for a traditional product launch or it will be just a matter of live-streams. Either way we will try our hand at new technology and put forward our first impressions as soon as possible.

Samsung’s foldable has matured dramatically over the last generation and we’re expecting more refinements this time around. The Galaxy Fold 4 seems to be a fairly minor upgrade in terms of specs, with a performance boost and a possible 1TB storage option. Last year’s model was still prohibitively expensive at £1,599, so we’re hoping that some sophisticated processes will allow Samsung to bring down the cost a bit more this time around.
