Netflix wants to improve in its fight against piracy: it is looking for specialized personnel


One of the most pirated on-demand content platforms is Netflix. His great successes, such as Red Alert or Money Heist, soon become available for download via torrent and other illicit methods. The company already has a piracy division with offices around the world, as well as being one of the founding members of the Alliance For Creativity and Entertainment (ACE) and in 2019 joined the Motion Picture Association (MPA). The Content Protection team leads these global anti-piracy efforts as part of Netflix’s broader Public Policy team. In order to better support the business as it grows, the Content Protection team is seeking a new Manager to lead our internal Data Analysis and Title Protection efforts.yes.

The main responsibilities they ask for are the following:

  • Lead internal title protection efforts, including managing various members of the Content Protection team.
  • Develop a dynamic and impactful coverage strategy for the list of titles.
  • Analyze team and vendor findings on an ongoing basis, and provide regular reports on key title and piracy insights and analysis, distilling trends that will impact Netflix’s coverage strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including content acquisition and marketing teams, on title coverage.
  • Work closely with platforms, such as YouTube and Facebook, on content protection tools and develop collaborative relationships with other key platforms.
  • Manage coverage from third-party providers, including driving improvements and evaluating alternative coverage, including tests and bake-offs.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the anti-piracy team (based in London, Los Angeles and Singapore) on global anti-piracy initiatives.
  • Provide support for data collection on pirate streaming sites, cyberlockers and other pirate platforms.
  • Work closely on data analysis with our own specialist industry research team.
  • Establish and manage relationships with Motion Picture Association stakeholders and our content partners.
  • Evaluate new technological solutions to deal with online piracy.
  • Establish internal contacts between policy, business and legal teams to develop improvements in knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain flexibility and openness to take on additional projects when needed.

Undoubtedly, a very dynamic job with which Netflix intends to continue putting stones in the way of those who do not hesitate to pirate copyrighted content.
