Ford Trucks’ new generation truck, which is 100% electric, quiet and has excellent maneuverability, creates many advantages in terms of monthly energy consumption when compared to vehicles with internal combustion engines. For example, the energy costs that the customer will spend can be reduced by half according to today’s conditions. A similar advantage will be seen in maintenance costs. Since the number of moving and maintenance parts is much less in an electric vehicle, maintenance costs are expected to decrease by 2/3. At the same time, with the incentives in place in European countries, the cost of ownership will be even better. Even if these incentives cannot be taken into account, Ford Trucks’ electric truck will offer a lower total cost of ownership than diesel vehicles over a 4-year period.

E-Transit Custom, Ford’s second electric commercial vehicle after E-Transit, also met with the visitors at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Fair. Mass production of Transit Custom will start in 2023 at Ford Otosan’s Yeniköy Factory in Kocaeli. Ford Otosan announced that it will invest 2 billion Euros for new generation electric and connected vehicles at its Kocaeli Plants in 2021. E-Transit Custom production is being implemented within the scope of this investment. Ford Otosan is becoming one of the largest automotive manufacturers in Europe with its 900,000 vehicle capacity, with both its Kocaeli investment and the acquisition of the Romanian Craiova factory this year.
