Now, the Nothing Ear Stick have already been officially presented and, fortunately, the design of the charging case is not the only thing that differentiates them of the Nothing Ear 1. For noisy environments the best option is the Nothing Ear (1) thanks to the ANC

One of the main differences between these two headphones is the technology they use to eliminate external noise. The Nothing Ear (1) offer ANC technology (active noise cancellation) which takes advantage of the microphones to detect external noise and generate an artificial sound wave that interferes with the external ones. In this way, they manage to generate a hearing isolation so you can listen to music without surrounding noise being a problem.

On the other hand, The Nothing Ear Stick arrived without active noise cancellation. This makes the experience when listening to music with these headphones not so good in very noisy environments. The only similar technology they offer is software noise cancellation, which is not as effective as ANC and is also only good for calls.

The Nothing Ear Stick will become the favorite of many: more powerful, cheaper, better functions and with more autonomy

Now, except for the absence of the ANC, in the rest of the characteristics, the Nothing Ear Stick is much more attractive. For starters, they have a lighter and more ergonomic design compared to the Nothing Ear (1). Its head has a format half in ear which means that the earpiece sits in the ear and not in the ear canal, making them much more comfortable to wear.

Also, the Nothing Ear Stick have largest drivers than the Nothing Ear 1 (12.6mm vs. 11.6mm)… What does this translate to? Well, they are qualified to offer a louder and more powerful sound quality. However, if you are not a specialist in the subject, it is unlikely that you will be able to notice the differences in sound quality.

Not having active noise cancellation gives the Nothing Ear Stick an advantage: more autonomy. Depending on the brand, these TWS can offer up to 7 hours of music play time Y 29 additional hours with case charge. For their part, the Nothing Ears (1) guarantee 4 hours of playback with the ANC active, just under 6 hours when this technology is deactivated and the square case only provides an additional 24 hours of autonomy.

Finally, it should be mentioned that since it was launched before the Nothing Phone (1), the Nothing Ear (1) were not designed to offer special functions with the mobile (although we do not rule out incorporating them with future updates). Instead, Ear Sticks integrate much better with Nothing’s phone and with other mobiles.

Why? Well, because the new headphones add special features such as low latency mode for gaming, gesture control customization, digital equalizer Y Find My Earbuds to find them by ringing them from your mobile. In addition, all these functions are available both on the Nothing Phone (1), and on any other Android or iOS mobile thanks to the Nothing X app.

So… Nothing Ear Stick or Nothing Ear 1? Which one to buy?

Now that you know all the differences between these two headphones, it should surely be easier for you to choose which one to buy. Do you still have doubts? Well, perhaps the price is the last piece of information you need to make a decision. Currently, Nothing Ear (1) can be had for €85, but the brand announced that they will go up in price shortly, so their new official price is €149.

For their part, the new Nothing Ear Stick (which are better in many ways except noise cancellation) are cheaper as they are officially priced at €99. So if you’re not worried about running out of ANC, it looks like the answer to which of these two headphones to buy is pretty clear.

And you… Which of these Nothing headphones do you prefer?
