The subject of Mass Effect has been on the lips of many fans recently, mainly due to the short teaser of the fifth installment of the series released by BioWare yesterday. Both that and yesterday’s N7 Day may be a reason for some to revisit the original Shepard trilogy; and maybe even getting to know it for the first time. This fact was used by the creator of a certain modification to Mass Effecta 2, revealing its secrets during N7 Day.

A modification that is a big help

Nos Astra Mineral Exchange is the work of a user called beccatoria, who created many other mods for Mass Effect games. This particular one, however, focuses on the second part of the series, and more specifically on the raw materials that can be obtained in it.

The modification can be a great help for many people, and at the same time also a new challenge (as if someone in the basic game would not have enough of them). It allows the exchange of element zero, iridium, platinum, palladium, as well as credits with NPCs.

The mod was released on September 10 this year, but the beccatoria itself reminded of it during N7 Day. He was a bit surprised that players did not discover a few secrets the mod offers; so he decided to reveal them himself. He provided an instructional video in which showed the possibility of unlocking the terminal on the ship of the Shadow Broker offering discounts, as well as a separate side quest. You can see his guide below.

You can see that the creator put a lot of effort into the Nos Astral MIneral Exchange – the exchanges are extensive and take into account recorded dialogue lines for the characters. It is worth adding that there are many humorous elements in the entire modification, which can be seen from the description itself:

The Nos Astra Mineral Exchange offers the possibility of commodity trading […] on competitive terms, only for a modest financial commitment! (NAE is not responsible for the quality and reliability of promotional content.) Create an account today!

Technical issues of modification

Note that Nos Astra Mineral Exchange is only available to ME2 in Legendary Edition from 2021. The creator explained that the original ME2 is more difficult to modify (especially when it comes to voice acting).

Another problem for some may be that mod is only available in English. However, if you are interested in it, you can download it from Nexus Mods.
