The connection found by fans concerns the wizard’s last name, Rookwood, also mentioned briefly in the film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Firealthough viewers who have not read the novels are unlikely to remember it. Augustus Rookwood was a secret agent of the Ministry of Magic during the first wizarding warwhich took place in the 80s in the canonical Harry Potter saga.
It was first mentioned while viewing a memory through the Pensieve, when Harry had a chance to witness the trial being done at Igor Karkaroff, former Death Eater and Dean of Durmstrang School. During the trial, Karkaroff framed Barty Crouch Jr. and accused Rookwood of being loyal to Voldemort. While working in the Ministry of Magic, the wizard provided important information to the Dark Lord.
The surnames they are never coincidences in the colorful world created by JK Rowling. In this case, there may be a connection between Augustus and Victor, probably the grandfather or great-grandfather of the Rookwook featured in the main saga.
Hogwarts Legacy takes place about 50 years before the adventures narrated in Fantastic Beastsso it’s possible that ancestors appear in the game, and everything is connected. Warner Bros. Games stated that they intend to release the game during Christmas holidays of 2022so next winter.
