Elden Ring is already an absolute bestseller: 12 million copies sold

An absolute sales success.

Anyone would have told Hidetaka Miyazaki years ago that Demon’s Souls was the beginning of something so great, but the truth is that From Software has managed to rise as one of the largest video game companies in the industry, thereby giving rise to each new release being more anticipated than the previous one. To give an example of this, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice managed to win the 2019 GOTY, while Elden Ring points in the same direction.

Of course, the success of a video game is not only nourished by prizes, since the sales figures are an equal and even more important piece of information, especially at a business level, for which reason it was already expected that Elden Ring had sold a lot. And with the first sales data on the table, it has already been seen that this has been the case, since Elden Ring has surpassed 12 million copies sold since its launch on February 25.

Elden Ring is a critical and commercial success.

Under this premise, it would have been shared that Elden Ring would have sold 1 million copies in Japan and more than 12 million globally, this being shared by Hidetaka Miyazaki, CEO of From Software and producer and director of Elden Ring, who has been shown excited by the great acceptance of the title, thanking the fans for all their support on behalf of the development team.

Thus, Elden Ring has become the most successful new IP in Europe since The Division, a title that was launched in 2016 and that has ended up being surpassed by the work of From Software. Likewise, the data provided by Grupo NPD and Famitsu reveal that Elden Ring was the best-selling game in February in the United States and Japan respectively, this being quite an achievement if we take into account that was launched three days before the end of the month.

On the other hand, the CEO of Bandai Namco, Yasuo Miyakawa, would have thanked the fans for their support, noting that this title has been made with the collaboration of George RR Martin. Likewise, he has also spoken of the intention of expand elden ring ip, which could lead either to that rumored DLC that is being talked about so much or to be included in the metaverse that they are preparing. Only time will tell.

For the rest, it only remains to remember that Elden Ring is available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC since last February 25.
