The Shockwafe Ultra 9.2 eARC is a new generation model that is committed to proprietary SSE MAX technology to process and present the viewer with theoretically more convincing surround sound than that generated by conventional sound systems.
The set consists of a main sound bar in which additional lateral drivers have been inserted for the reproduction of Dolby Atmos-type tracks, but it stands out above all for its companions, since the brand has chosen to add two huge 10-inch subwoofers that connect wirelessly to the bar using the 5 GHz band.
These subwoofers have their own integrated amplifiers and with additional ones to feed the four rear and side satellite speakers, which must be connected with an RCA cable to the bass box, two for each subwoofer.
This connection is simple, but having to place the subwoofers on both sides of the sofa It will force us to have a distribution in the room similar to the one we can see in the attached photos and video, something to consider before buying this specific model, since if we cannot locate them in this way, the sound results will probably not be optimal.
The bar is connected to the TV by means of a eARC-compatible HDMI 2.1 port or through an optical or coaxial digital port if we do not have a compatible screen, being able to decode sound tracks Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and maintaining compatibility with videos in high dynamic range Dolby Vision.
The installation is relatively simple, as we can see in the manufacturer’s video, having to synchronize and pair the subwoofers with the bar before starting to play content and subsequently offering different listening modes that we can select from its backlit remote control.
Once started up, the equipment is capable of providing a combined power of 1,300 watts with a sound pressure of 113 dB that brings it closer to much more complex systems based on a receiver plus speakers, mainly thanks to the 600 watts from the subwoofers which according to the manufacturer can go down to 20 Hz.
In addition, we can also use the set as a sound system to send content wirelessly from the mobile with Bluetooth thanks to the incorporation of the protocol Qualcomm aptX HD.
