WhatsApp and Messenger will be the next sources of income for Meta

Just a few days ago, it was reported that Goal it was laying off more than 10,000 workers and would begin a restructuring process to return to the path of economic growth. Meanwhile, Mark Zuckerberg is convinced that the Metaverse is the future of social networks and he will continue to bet on this technology, as well as other applications such as WhatsApp.

It is reported that about 20% of Meta’s budget has been allocated to the formation of the Metaverse, but Zuckerberg himself stated that he continues to report losses. For this reason, it will promote the economic development of WhatsApp Y Messenger.

The two communication applications do not report higher income for Meta, since they have remained outside the international advertising ecosystem. Messenger has more than 900 million users and WhatsApp, more than 2 billion.

WhatsApp and Messenger will help Meta grow

As reported by the Reuters agency, Mark Zuckerberg informed employees that these two applications “would drive the next wave of sales growth for the company.” All within the framework of appeasing the reaction of investors after the massive layoffs.

We talk a lot about very long-term opportunities like the metaverse, but the reality is that commercial messaging will probably be the next big pillar of our business as we work to monetize more WhatsApp and Messenger, commented the CEO of Meta.

For now, it is not known how revenue will increase through WhatsApp or Messenger. But in the green application, the Business system is already beginning to be tested, where several businesses use the system to display their catalogs and make sales.

WhatsApp begins to test this content in some countries, for the moment, such as Brazil and India. It is not known when the massification of the purchase and sales system will begin.
