After introducing them on Facebook and also on Instagram, Meta’s avatars are now officially available on WhatsApp. With them you can get an alter ego made by you to chat with all your contacts. And they add an extra attraction: WhatsApp will create stickers with your avatar to enrich your conversations.
Putting a profile photo is the most common in most applications: just access the photo gallery, or take a new one, so that the profile represents us faithfully. But What if we were looking for a more personal way to say who we are? That is what the avatars that many apps and phone manufacturers have among their options are for. WhatsApp is one of the last to arrive.
WhatsApp combo: avatar + stickers, all personalized
We had already talked about this novelty because we were able to test it in advance thanks to the activation through the code. Later it reached us in beta accounts, it was the second step in the race that now finally comes to an end: avatars begin to be available to all users.
As WhatsApp itself has confirmed, the expansion of avatars reaches all accounts using both mobile apps. From the account settings, anyone can choose how others see them: editing avatars covers an almost infinite number of possibilities.
Using the avatar selector you can choose hair, facial features, clothing and many other personal aspects. Also, WhatsApp allows you to configure these avatars whenever the user wants; so anyone can change their appearance according to their mood or depending on the day of the week, for example.
To select these avatars, the following configuration must be carried out:
- Enter the WhatsApp settings and click on the image of your avatar, at the top left.
- Click on the pencil icon, top right
- Choose the “Avatar” option.
- Go step by step selecting each trait you want for your avatar.
- You can change the avatar whenever you want, you choose.
Once the avatar is created, WhatsApp automatically creates a custom sticker pack with the features and appearance of the creation. These stickers can be attached to any WhatsApp chat by selecting them from the relevant menu.
The feature is official and should already be found in most apps. In the event that it still does not appear, you have to make sure that have WhatsApp updated to the latest version available: the avatars will not be long in coming.
