DC Universe: that’s when the new era led by Gunn and Safran will begin

The famous “DC Bible, the document that should act as a beacon for the next decade of DC Studios’ activity, on which Gunn and Safran have been working for some time, may finally have come to an end: at least this is the first thought we had when we learned that the duo has delivered the notes to the Studios related to the program for the 2023 on assets concerning the noDCEU egg (DC Extended Universe). When asked about it, Gunn replied with a tweets to some questions from fans about the more or less near future of the brand of which he is now the head. And he started right away by revealing that:

Peter (Safran) and I will help lead the already filmed projects for next year, but the new filming will not start until after Aquaman 2.

We can therefore say with certainty that the clapperboard of the new projects will not happen before 2024. The director had stated that, together with Safran, he was developing a series of interconnected projects (films, series and video games), but some projects from the previous DC era (like Shazam! Fury of Gods, The Flash and, precisely, Aquaman 2) must alsocora be faced during 2023.

And it cannot be excluded that what Gunn and Safran have in mind may lead to gods big changes to the previous schedule. At the time of him some leak they had clearly done guess be it the Flash sequel that the new chapter of Aquaman they would have done trailblazer to an adaptation of Crisis on Infinite Earth. But the pair of authors have their own ideas for the new shared universe and therefore may not want to be tied to elements of the past. However, Gunn has not released any statements in this regard, “limiting himself” to stating:

We are excited to continue the great films made before our arrival and to work hard to create an extraordinary, wonderful and unique DCU that goes beyond what has been done.

Unfortunately as things stand now they are very little news circulating on which may be the intentions of the two co-CEOs on the fate of many characters and many actors. However, this has not prevented some newspapers from claiming to have information in this regard: for example, the Hollywood Reporter, a few days ago, gave theexclusion of Henry Cavill from the role of Superman and the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3 by Patty Jenkins. When asked about it Gunn replied in a somewhat enigmatic way stating:

Well. As for the story in the Hollywood Reporter, some of it is true, some of it is half true, some of it is not true, and some of it we haven’t decided yet whether it’s true or not.

In short, it is very likely that in the months to come we will still hear about Safran and Gunn’s projects, and it cannot be excluded that we will discover the truth only in 2024.
