Popular Online Indie Sneak-and-Stab Simulator among us Currently facing an ongoing DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack. according to this among us Developers Innersloth, the game has been offline for more than two days in both North America and Europe due to the attack.

On the evening of Friday, March 24, among us Players eventually started reporting some server issues, making it impossible for players to connect and play online at all. Soon after, Innersloth confirmed that the servers were indeed down and Explained that it was all due to a DDoS attack,

The official account tweeted, “We have a sabotage going on”, before explaining the DDoS attack and apologizing to the players for the downtime. It also explained that it may take “a while” before things go well.

Now, more than 48 hours later, the servers are still down, with most players unable to connect.

Innersloth’s last update came yesterday afternoon, the developers explained that the servers were still unstable and that as the team continues to fight the DDoS attack, the servers may turn on and off. So you may be able to log on, but it’s likely that you’ll boot up shortly. Innersloth said it will update players when the server returns to normal and becomes stable.

Although some players are certainly disappointed with the position, Innersloth continues to use among us Twitter account to have fun during a DDoS attack. Of course, just because someone is tweeting jokes doesn’t mean the rest of the team isn’t doing anything, but this is the internet and some gamers just can’t get the idea that different people in the studio have different things. There are different jobs.

Fortunately, most of the people responding to Innersloth’s DDoS update have been playing with devs during incredibly annoying and flashy times.

DDoS attacks also remain a problem for video game companies and networks at large. In December 2014, both the PSN and Xbox Live networks were taken down by a massive DDoS attack. Sadly, these types of attacks are difficult to predict and prevent. And as more and more video games rely on the Internet, DDoS attacks and online hacking will only become a bigger and more annoying problem for players and developers.

UPDATE: 3/27/2022 1:51PM ET: innersloth told Kotaku Via email which is still working on fixing its server problems, but didn’t have any specific updates to share beyond that.

When asked why someone or a group of people was sabotaging the game, Innersloth jokingly replied that the perpetrators were “salty at being evicted”.
