On the evening of Friday, March 24, among us Players eventually started reporting some server issues, making it impossible for players to connect and play online at all. Soon after, Innersloth confirmed that the servers were indeed down and Explained that it was all due to a DDoS attack,

The official account tweeted, “We have a sabotage going on”, before explaining the DDoS attack and apologizing to the players for the downtime. It also explained that it may take “a while” before things go well.

G/O Media may get commission

Innersloth’s last update came yesterday afternoon, the developers explained that the servers were still unstable and that as the team continues to fight the DDoS attack, the servers may turn on and off. Of course, just because someone is tweeting jokes doesn’t mean the rest of the team isn’t doing anything, but this is the internet and some gamers just can’t get the idea that different people in the studio have different things. There are different jobs.

Fortunately, most of the people responding to Innersloth’s DDoS update have been playing with devs during incredibly annoying and flashy times.

DDoS attacks also remain a problem for video game companies and networks at large. In December 2014, both the PSN and Xbox Live networks were taken down by a massive DDoS attack. Sadly, these types of attacks are difficult to predict and prevent.
