Here is Netflix’s index of the fastest providers for December 2022

As happens every month, Netflix has published on its official website the index of the fastest ISPs (Internet Service Providers) in Italy for the past month, therefore in this case December 2022. new entry is Iliad Italy which immediately takes first place together with Sky Wi-Fi.

It should be noted that the Netflix speed index is a measure of Netflix’s performance during prime time (i.e. the evening hours which are generally the busiest hours) with a specific operator, consequently it does not reflect the actual performance of the network in that particular moment. This means that a speedtest carried out through any site (for example through fast.com), could give much higher values (and really much) than those found in the Netflix ranking.

As for watching content on Netflix, the higher the speed, the better image quality, faster video start times and above all fewer interruptions during movies and TV series (the infamous buffering).

So going to see the Italian ranking, in first place there are Iliad Italia and Sky Wifi with 3.8Mbps. Immediately below are Fastweb, Telecom Italia, Tiscali, Vodafone Italy and Wind con 3.6Mbps. In third position is EOLO with 3.4Mbps and in last position there is instead Linkem with 2.6Mbps.

Italy, even if in recent years it has made a lot of progress in terms of connectivity, is still not keeping up with many other countries. In fact, in Italy only Iliad Italia and Sky Wifi reach 3.8 Mbps, while seventeen other countries (Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States) have one average of 3.8Mbps.

Anyway, however, Italy has a respectable average of 3.6 Mbps placing second in the world together with Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Romania, Taiwan, Thailand and Uruguay.

Surely we Italians can be happy with the results obtained and we will stop complaining when we realize that the poor are in last place Venezuela with an average of just 1.8Mbps.
