Live V25 5G Review: the good and the bad of the smartphone

There are too many cell phones on the market, there are even various brands that have begun to be marketed in our country. With more than two years in Peru, Alive has decided to launch the Live V25 5Ga terminal that is characterized by changing color.

Would it be a good idea to buy it just for that aspect? We were able to test Vivo’s smartphone for a few weeks and we already have the review full of Live V25 5G.

DESIGN

The Vivo V25 5G has a fairly clean design and an iridescent color is added that can be yellow and orange, nice to look at. Its chassis is made of glass that is a bit frosted so that fingerprints do not stick to it.

There we have an island of cameras that do not protrude too much from its body with 159.2 x 74.2 x 7.8mm structure. The good thing is that you can protect it from bumps or falls with the silicone case that comes in the box.

The Vivo V25 5G, in addition to weighing 186 grams, has the classic on and off buttons, volume buttons, and a fingerprint reader under the screen.. It also has a USB Type-C port, a NanoSIM slot and fairly rounded bezels for a better grip.

What we liked is that the flat surface of the cell phone makes it particular and, above all, aesthetically pleasing. A design that several people will really like for its versatility and, above all, for its easy use with one hand.

SCREEN

The Vivo V25 5G has a 6.44-inch screen and a 90 Hz refresh rate. This greatly favors that it does not hang for anything in the world and that the animations flow with greater dynamism. Despite being a mid-range, the terminal has a AMOLED display with HDR10+ which can reach 1300 nits of brightness, that will prevent you from checking your notifications during the zenith.

He even wears a resolution of 1080 x 2404 pixels so you can view at 60 frames per secondwhile YouTube will also be seen in high quality of 2160 pixels, without reaching the long-awaited 4K despite being displayed.

The colors are quite intense, so they are well controlled in case you like bright hues a lot. Having an AMOLED screen benefits a lot when it comes to turning off pixels and saving battery life.

Also, photos or videos do not turn cold, much less with less brightness, the automatic lighting is well calibrated so that you not only save energy, but also avoid too much flicker in your eyes.

PROCESSOR AND PERFORMANCE

The Vivo V25 5G, in addition to having the latest communication technology, has a processor Mediatek Dimensity 900characteristic of the mid-range, avoiding that it hangs or lags when one or another heavy program is opened.

In the same way it takes 128 GB of internal storage, which, unfortunately, cannot be expanded. We also have an 8 GB RAM memory capable of expanding up to 8 GB more.

The terminal carries Android 12although it is expected that you can also get Android 13 in the not too distant future, and a fairly friendly customization layer that every time performs well, the Funtouch 12.

In the games section, we were able to test Genshin Impact that, at the beginning, although there were certain bumps as a result of the large number of graphics, they got used to the performance of the mobile and adapted, generating the images to run well at 30 frames per second and in average quality. It is not necessary to demand too much since it does not reach the subject of high performance either. The characters and the shots, movements, etc., are well calibrated and there is no desynchronization between what is seen and what is heard.

On the other hand, in the matter of PUBG Mobile, being a fairly light game, high quality was used. There was no problem, much less pixelization. The graphics were well marked and the texture of the characters well implemented with balanced blacks and whites.

Of course, you must be a little careful on the issue of heating since sometimes it tends to be extreme when there are applications in the background open. The best thing to do is to close them so that the RAM memory, and its expansion, work correctly.

CAMERAS

THE Live V25 5G has triple rear sensor, headed by a 64-megapixel standard camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle and 2-megapixel macro. While on the front it has 50 megapixels for your selfies.

The tones of the images are usually quite correct, although sometimes the colors tend to have a little more contrast so that they enhance the photos more. The skies come out very light blue and the sunsets quite calculated, without excessive rebound of light or darkness.

The sharpness and brightness of the images are well calibrated so that there is no pixelization when you are taking a photo in daylight. What you do have to know is that you can use HDR together with artificial intelligence for object recognition and thus give your photographic results a special filter.

The good thing is that there is no falsehood or much aesthetics or saturation involved when viewing them on the computer. Although it is natural, if you don’t like it, you can use the manual mode to better regulate your image.

Already in the wide angle, apparently, if there is good lighting, now that the sun is rising, it does not usually lose too much quality or pixels, on the contrary, it keeps the tones of the main lens uniform, although it is always best to use it in areas with direct light.

While the macro lens acts quickly and automatically when you get close to an object, allowing the bokeh effect to also do its thing and thus not only capture details that cannot be seen with the naked eye, but also blur the background to the result looks pretty good.

Regarding selfies, although it has 50 megapixels, sometimes the makeup or beauty effect of the equipment tends to activate automatically when you least expect it and many will not like that. For that, you just have to enter the same application to reduce it or your images will come out too pastel.

BATTERY

The Vivo V25 5G has 4500 mAh powerwhich means that its battery can last between 12 to 14 hours in average use, while if you are a gamer user it can last between 6 to 7 hours.

Similarly, the device has a fast charging system that can reach 44.5 w, so you can count on 61% of it in just 30 minutes, while in less than an hour you will already have 100%.

CONCLUSIONS

  • The Vivo V25 meets expectations and even exceeds several mid-range on the market. It has a clean and striking design, as well as a fairly well-cared aesthetic, without excesses.
  • Similarly, the terminal has good performance speed. You will not find too much lag and much less slowness.
  • The downside is that you can’t expand its internal memory, so sometimes the 128 GB may fall short if you’re a purely gamer user.
  • In the aspect of the cameras, I liked that it is imposed so that the colors and tones of the image results are as close to reality as possible.
  • The Vivo V25 5G is sold in Peru at 1799 soles in plan of 69.90 soles in Movistar
