Just last year, the Spanish government began to use extreme alerts in order to notify the person who may be close to an earthquake as quickly as possible, such as the one that has happened in turkey. Android was also updated last year with a similar measure for earthquakes and that you have available from your mobile.

Google has a whole page full of earthquake early warnings. An extraordinary event that according to its magnitude can become devastating. For this reason, our mobiles have been updated to provide a system capable of launching the warning just in those minutes in which a correct decision can be the difference between life and death.
This system is available on Android and sends earthquake alerts in cases of magnitude 4.5 or higher. There are two very different alerts: one for weak or slight tremors and another for moderate or extreme.

Thanks to the fact that Google updated Android through Google Play Services, the vast majority of mobile phones have mini seismometers that are capable of detecting the presence of an earthquake.

It is always important to take a few seconds to go through the phone settings and thus check that we have activated the earthquake alarm at follow these steps:
- You have to go to Security and emergency.
- We look up “Earthquake Alerts.”
- Once inside we make sure that the “Earthquake Alerts” option is active.
