After years of waiting, Warner Bros. announced “Constantine 2”, but it is very possible that the production will not hit the big screen. According to the latest report, the project was canceled and its announcement was not a well-thought-out action.
In September last year, “Constantine 2” was officially announced, and the director even mentioned his desire to create a bloody spectacle, because the film would receive an R rating. Keanu Reeves did not hide that he had wanted to create a continuation of the story for years.
However, as you know, DC has undergone a lot of changes in recent months, and, among others, James Gunn revealed the first “chapter” of the new DC and “Constantine 2” is not on the production list.
The situation was investigated by KC Walsh, one of the industry insiders, who briefly mentioned in response to another message: “Constantine 2 won’t be made.”
In his view, the announcement of the film was a “desperate” move by Warner Bros. Discovery, which did not have announced films for the coming years, so the long-awaited continuation was reached.
Since then, the corporation has canceled three series (“Doom Patrol”, “Titans” and “Pennyworth”), decided not to release “Batgirl” earlier, and even abandoned grand plans for Henry Cavill to return to DC and reprise his role as Superman.
We still have to wait for the official message, but “Constantine 2” may not be made.
