Soon You Can Play PlayStation Vita Games on Your Android Phone

PlayStation Vita is coming to an Android phone near you, in the form of an emulator launching for the platform later this week. PS Vita emulator Vita3K will be getting an Android release on February 12, according to Android Authority. Macdu, the creator of the emulator, confirmed the release on the official Vita3K Discord channel. This is good news for PlayStation Vita fans.

Because it gives you another way to play your favorite Vita titles on the go. Of course, Vita enthusiasts still own their Vita hardware. And you can easily take it with you. But, the Vita3K PlayStation Vita emulator for Android makes those titles a little more portable. Since you won’t have to have additional hardware. While it probably won’t be as smooth a gameplay experience as a real Vita handheld, it certainly will be more convenient. And there’s certainly a place for something like that.

PlayStation Vita Emulator For Android Won’t Be On The Play Store

That is, at least for now. Macdu says that the emulator will be available as an APK on Sunday, February 12, in the official Vita3K Discord channel. So if you want a chance to play Vita games on your phone, you’ll need to join Discord to get access to the APK. File for installation on your phone or tablet.

It also appears that updates to the emulator app will come from the Discord channel as well. You will need a device running Android 7.0 or later to run the app. Also, it should be ARM64 and should support Vulkan 1.0. It’s also worth noting that the emulator can have a tendency to be extremely resource heavy. So you may need a device with good specs to meet any demand.

There is currently no mention of recommended specifications. But the developer plans to update the Discord post with those details. Availability is expected closer to the date.
