One of the most intriguing and memorable locations from John Wick 4 is the Berlin techno club Himmel und Hölle, meaning in Polish: Heaven and hell. It is here, surrounded by sky-high waterfalls and impressive fountains, that the hero played by Keanu Reeves fought a fierce battle with a golden-toothed German gangster named Killa. The austere and minimalist atmosphere of the interior made an impression no less than Wick’s bloody settlements with the mafioso – and it must be added that it was a fight of the highest level. Scott Adkins, who plays Killa, is a martial arts master. The hellish-heavenly venue encourages both film fans and clubbers to visit. And here comes the fundamental question: does Himmel und Hölle even exist?

Unfortunately, the first message is bad. Anyone who has been to Berlin at least once will easily recognize that the entrance to Himmel und Hölle is on Museum Island, so in an area where famous museums and galleries are located. This place lives art and history, not techno parties the club Himmel und Hölle simply has no chance to exist in this location. Worse, it does not exist in any other, as Chad Stahelski revealed in an interview with Film Startsthe impressive clubhouse was built solely for the show.

However, we have good news to cheer you up. As it turns out, Himmel und Hölle was inspired by the real, existing in Berlin, the elite Berghain restaurant. Clubbers probably do not need to introduce this legendary place – it is one of the best and most desirable techno clubs, a real must-be for a self-respecting party person.

Shooting the scene in the techno club was really good. For its needs, we built our own version of Berghain – explained the director.

So there is a place in Berlin where you can go if you want to experience the atmosphere presented in John Wick 4. However, there is no guarantee that you will pass the selection, which is really tough here. However, it is worth trying, because what will be your surprise when you see … the movie Klaus at the gate! Yes, the same one who introduced John Wick to Himmel und Hölle, and the same one whose only line was “I’m Klaus” repeated several times. Klaus, one of the film’s most characteristic episodic characters, was played by the real manager of the Berghain club – Sven Marquardt. He is not just any “goalkeeper”, but a true legend of Berlin nightlife. In addition to selecting guests, he also professionally deals with photography and cooperates with fashion houses.

So although visiting the Himmel und Hölle club is an impossible dream, and Berghain may not be so easy to get to, you can always queue in front of the premises for several hours – not so much to enter, but to get a consolation prize – the autograph of the famous coach and actor from John Wick in one.

John Wick 4 is on the screens of Polish cinemas from March 24.
