The most expensive mobile in the history of Xiaomi comes true

Nothing seemed to indicate that this year we would once again have an Ultra version of Samsung’s flagship series. After two months since the Xiaomi 13 Lite, 13 and 13 Pro were presented to the public, the company has just displayed its most ambitious commitment in history. We are talking about the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, a model that starts from the base of the Pro version to vitaminizeif this verb exists, some of its most outstanding characteristics. All this with a photographic section signed again by Leica and with a variable aperture technology that promises to improve the versatility of the main sensor.

A ceramic design with a superlative camera module and the brightest screen

The brand has decided to bet again on a ceramic finish that is on the back of the device, which is chaired, in turn, by a circular camera module that houses no less than five sensors, four conventional and one ToF to improve the depth of Portrait mode, among other functions. We are talking about four 50-megapixel sensors: the main one is the same Sony IMX989 that we found in the Pro version, while the three remaining sensorswith periscope lenses of 3 and 5 magnifications and wide angle equivalent to 12 millimeters, correspond to the IMX858 of the same brand.

The interesting thing about the first is that now we find ourselves with a variable aperture system that allows us to alternate between a focal length f/1.9 and f/4.0 to suit the scene conditions. A smaller focal aperture also allows us to better blur the background for Portrait mode. The brand also ensures that all four cameras will support Night Scene functions and will be capable of recording video in 8K resolution.

Going back to the design section, the company has registered IP68 certification to make it resistant to water and dust. With a 6.73-inch screen, the phone once again replicates the specifications of the Xiaomi 13 Pro: LTPO OLED technology with a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz, Quad HD+ resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels, HDR10+… The main difference comes from the level of brightness, managing to reach 2,600 nits of peak brightness, being the highest value on the market. Special mention to the new green finish composed of what looks like a kind of vegan leather.

Same specifications as the Xiaomi 13 Pro, but enhanced

That’s how it is. On paper, we find the same processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but with memory options of 12 and 16 GB and 256 and 512 GB and 1 TB of type UFS 4.0. The battery that supports these specifications is 5,000 mAh and supports up to 90 W fast charging, a figure somewhat less than that offered by the Xiaomi 13 Pro, compatible with up to 120 W. It also has 50 W wireless charging and reverse charging of 10W

Otherwise, the phone arrives with MIUI 14 operating on Android 13in addition to a string of connections typical of the highest range this year: Bluetooth 5.3, WiFi 6E, 5G SA and NSA, Dual GPS…

Price and availability of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in Spain

At the time of publishing this article, the available versions of the Xiaomi 13 Ultra have not yet been made official. If we look at the latest rumors, everything indicates that we will find a starting price of 6,300 yuan, which in exchange represents about 842 euros. We must bear in mind that the Pro version came out in its country of origin for a starting price of just over 660 euros, while its arrival in Spain meant an increase of more than 700 euros. This could reach the old continent for a price of 1,600 euros in its base model. In any case, we will update the article with all the information about it as soon as it becomes official.
