Last month, OnePlus released a stable OxygenOS 12 firmware upgrade based on Android 12 for the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, 8T, and OnePlus 9R. However, several OnePlus users reported that the firmware is full of bugs; As seen in our OnePlus 8 downgrade tutorial. Today, the firm released another stable Oxygen OS 12-based C.15 OTA update that includes important bug fixes and stability improvements.

OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro, OnePlus 8T, and OnePlus 9R all received the new C.12 OTA update with Android 12. This is a hotfix software update that fixes some critical issues and improves the overall user experience.

As for the changes, the current version boosts charging speed, enhances calling quality, and addresses the Face Unlock glitch. OTA also brings Android security patch level till March 2022. Check out the full changelog below.

On top of that, you’ll get custom Oxygen OS 12 and Android 12 goodies like the new wallpaper-based theme engine (Material U), privacy dashboard, and updated OnePlus apps.

How to Install Oxygen OS 12 Full Stock Firmware in OnePlus 8 Series?

Most of the updates listed above are incremental OTA updates. Meaning, you need to be on previous Oxygen OS 11 firmware and have to install OTA zip via stock recovery or via adb command.

Alternatively, for a full update, do the following:

Note: This upgrade method will erase all the contents of the phone, please make sure to back up first.

1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
2. Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
3. Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click on Top Right Icon -> Local Upgrade -> Click on Related Installation Package -> Upgrade -> System Upgrade Completed to 100%.
4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.

How to downgrade?

For those users who have already upgraded to this OxygenOS 12 stable firmware, can download full firmware from rollback downgrade section and install via apk, With this, you can choose to rollback. It will automatically open once installed, then you just need to click on the button on the top right corner to select the upgrade file mentioned in step 3 of the above instructions.

1. Download the appropriate rollback package from the link given below.
2. Copy the rollback package to the phone storage.
3. Install it apk, You will need it to roll back. Then, open the “MyApplication2” app -> tap Local Upgrade, then enter the recent page -> tap the top-left menu icon -> select your phone model -> find and tap the downgrade package -> then go to another page and There is an installation option alert, Tap Install now -> Wait for installation to finish -> Tap Reboot
4. After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
5. Rollback successful.
