How to disable pre-installed apps on Android


Disabling pre-installed apps on Android may vary slightly depending on the system version and the custom interface of your smartphone; however, we share a general way for you to follow these instructions.

  • Go to the “Settings” app on your Android phone.
  • Go to the “Applications” or “Application Manager” section.
  • Then, you will see some categories such as: “All”, “Downloaded” or “System”.
  • Select the “System” or “All” tab to see the total apps, including the pre-installed ones.
  • Scroll down and find the app you want to disable.
  • It should be noted that some system applications may have different names or be grouped under the original name of the manufacturer.
  • Tap on the app and its information will immediately open.
  • Here, you should find an option to “Disable” or “Disable” the app.
  • Click on this alternative and confirm your selection when prompted.
  • Finally, the app will be disabled and will not be visible in the app list or running in the background.

You should note that it is not possible to completely remove pre-installed apps unless you have root access on your device.
