Alan Wake 2, however, is more expensive. Publishers without information increased the price of the game

Alan Wake II is one of the hottest premieres of this year and a title we’ve been waiting for for a really long time. Now, however, we finally know the specific date of the debut and, in fact, it remains only to arm yourself with the last layers of patience and persevere for the next few months to plunge into this dark, full of enigmatic world again on October 17, 2023.

In the context of the game itself, it got loud on the occasion of the last PlayStation Showcase – not only because of the new material presenting the production. Much more important was the fact that we learned that we can’t count on a physical version at the premiere. One of the arguments for such action was, of course, the desire to deliver the title in a slightly lower price variant – just under PLN 180 on PC and only PLN 213 on consoles.

However, this is in the past, because last night, the publishers quietly changed the prices of the Standard and Deluxe editions. Everything looks like this:

pc:

  • Standard: 177.49 -> 214.99
  • Deluxe: 248.49 -> 300.99

PS5:

  • Standard: 212.99 -> 259.00
  • Deluxe: 284.00 -> 344.00

XSX|S:

  • Standard: 212.99 -> 257.99
  • Deluxe: 284.00 -> 343.99

It is quite controversial, and at the same time bold move by the team responsible for price regulation of production. We can expect that the situation itself will be very loud, but it also shows that the digital-only release has significant disadvantages – controlling the level of costs is unfortunately at a very high level, which gives rise to situations like the one presented above. What do you think about it?
