Bad news for the NewPipe community. Apparently, Google has removed the official page of this application in its search engine, at least in the case of some countries, due to a DMCA claim made by a French record label. Google has proceeded with this claim, which called for the removal of NewPipe.net, and it has been removed in several countries to erase NewPipe’s main trail: its official website.
NewPipe is a open source media platform that acts as an unofficial YouTube mod, used by many Android users both for their mobile devices and for Android TV itself due to how light it is. The safest ways to install this application are through its official page, which takes you to their site on GitHub where you get the updatesand from F-Droid.
With the first option out of orbit in some regions, it becomes more difficult to get updates or install the app in itself, in the case of new users, and even endangers the community. This is what seems to worry NewPipe the most and in his statement from the blog on his website they explain it.
