Forget the new MacBook Pro, Apple is announcing something better

Much of the discussion about the Mac platform will take place at Apple’s Worldwide Developer Conference; Interactions with software, chips and hardware are all set to shape up.

First up is macOS. Apple has laid out a relatively fixed timetable for macOS (as well as iOS and iPadOS), with a WWDC reveal, a developer beta in the coming months, and a public release in late October/early November. That option was never open for M1 MacBook Air or MacBook Pro laptops.

WWDC is going to lay these building blocks. The new macOS will definitely be on show. The M2’s capabilities – if not directly specified – will become apparent during the investigation of the code. And all of these will be bundled to offer a new consumer MacBook platform that will trump the specs of those first M1 MacBooks released back in 2020.
