On 9 April 2022 theanime Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie (Kawaii Dake Ja Nai Shikimori-san) adaptation of the manga of the same name Keigo Maki, was released on Crunchyroll. The anime is enjoying great success, as is the opening that in fact it has passed 1 million views on YouTube!

L’anime Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie was born as a manga series written and drawn by Keigo Maki. The manga has been serialized on the website and app of Pocket Magazine from Kodansha from February 2019 while it remains unpublished in our country.

The first 3 episodes are currently airing, albeit the anime risked being postponed after episode 1 airing due to a COVID-19 outbreak in the production studio. The premiere had already been delayed by 1 week for “organizational reasons”.

As for the staff Ryota Itoh (My Senpai Is Annoying) is directing the anime at Kobo stave with Shhei Yamanaka as assistant director. Yoshimi Narita (HappinessCharge PreCure!, Our love has always been 10 centimeters apart, My Senpai Is Annoying) deals with the scripts of the series.
