Subaru stops production due to lack of components

The Japanese Subaru is forced to suspend production because of shortage of components intended for the automotive sector. As we know, the entire sector has been dealing with a serious shortage of chips for some time now, a crisis already underway since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Subaru itself during 2021 recorded completely disappointing sales figures and consequently decided to stop all car production due to the global logistics crisis. The beginning of 2022 did not see clear improvements, so much so that the Japanese company stopped its orders Subaru BRZ due to the shortage of semiconductors.

Subaru has therefore announced in a statement that it will stop production at its production facilities in Japan for the 28 and 29 April.

Subaru Corporation will temporarily suspend production at its auto manufacturing facilities in Japan due to disruptions in the supply of certain components. Operations at the Gunma manufacturing plant, the Yajima plant and the Oizumi engine and transmission plant will be temporarily suspended. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers and all other interested parties, reads the official statement issued by the Japanese automaker.

Although the stop will affect some plants only for today and tomorrow, this delay could cost millions of lost profits and consequently cause further losses for the car manufacturer.

Furthermore, let us not forget that the current Russia-Ukraine conflict is leading many car manufacturers to a drastic slowdown in car production. Reality like Ford in recent weeks they have decided to stop production due to a lack of wiring. In addition to the difficulties in purchasing the components useful to build the 12.3-inch infotainment screens for the updated version of the Focus, there were also problems for the production of the Fiesta at the Cologne plant where Ford then decided to suspend production. .
