PS6: AMD works on successors to PS5 and Xbox Series S | X

Despite the shortage of stocks of PS5 and Xbox Series X, Sony and Microsoft are already thinking about the future. Such as? Planning the arrival of their next consoles, which we still do not know today. AMD thought about revealing this programming, which are now two generations that supports the two giants in the production of their platforms.

As reported by DualShockers, in fact, AMD has launched a job offer aimed at those who wish to work in the design of new chips. “The team behind the chips for Xbox, PlayStation and the latest RDNAs is currently hiring for the Markham, Canada headquarters to work on the next generation of System-on-Chip (SoC),” reads the announcement published by famous manufacturer. In short, with this job announcement, AMD is admitting that it is working on the chips it will target platforms that will “replace” PS5 and Xbox Series X in the future.

We are faced with a situation that is not exactly unprecedented. To design a console, in fact, you start very early. However, it is certainly the current context that makes this very strange. As we said at the beginning, in fact, at least for now it’s almost impossible to find in PS5 and Xbox Series X stores. The hope is that over the next few years the situation will return to normal and that the next generation will be affordable without long waiting lists and absurd delivery times.

If for Sony and Microsoft the future seems to be already decided, for Nintendo instead there are still no indications on a possible successor to Nintendo Switch. We know that a new console from the Japanese giant will be available over the next few years, but at least for now there has been no leaking or information on the matter.
