The heat is coming and the first thing that can come to mind to mitigate the effects of summer is to pull fans or air conditioning systems, fixed or portable. What you may not know is that there are also blinds and thermal blinds to protect from the heat.
Leaving aside the tips that we already know to try to maintain a good comfort temperature at home, it may be that pulling elements such as blinds or blinds is an effective solution and, moreover, cheaper than mounting complex air conditioning systems that can be complementary. This is what we are going to review in this article: some blinds and thermal blinds to keep the temperature at bay.

To begin with, blinds and thermal blinds are two elements that serve to maintain a temperature at home without so many ups and downs. On the one hand, they avoid the cold in winter, when outside temperatures are colder, while in summer they protect us from the heat.
This is possible thanks to the materials with which they are built. As with modern windows and closures with thermal bridge breakage, blinds or shutters that protect against temperature are made of special materials and combined such as aluminium, fiberglass or PVC.

In this point a double distinction must be made between blinds, which is the external element and blind, which is what we put inside the house. Furthermore, in this case, that of the blinds, we are not referring to the traditional models of fabric or similar fabrics that are intended more to prevent the passage of light than to isolate heat.
Usually the material chosen in the blinds of this type is aluminum, more effective than PVC, with a foam padding interior. A combination that also guarantees lightness, resistance (it resists the elements better than PVC) and good acoustic insulation. Against it, the price to pay for the aluminum finish is higher.
In the case of thermal blinds, the combined use PVC with fiberglass, an insulating material commonly used in construction. The mixture of both materials prevents us from getting heat from the outside with blinds that protect us from the sun, without fear of suffering damage from the sun’s rays.
to protect the house we can choose to combine both elements: blind and blind. The first is usually the easiest to install. Rollable, it is usually normal (there are also packages and rods), it admits placement both in plasterboard and in plaster or brick and we can install it ourselves.
As for the blinds, the normal thing is that they are roller and drawer to place in closures and exterior windows. This system consists of a drawer, guides, type of slats and type of drive, where the basics are the usual nylon strip.

All three are models of thermal blinds with folds, adjustable in width and with adjustable fixing brackets.
Equally, Lidl offers a pleated and thermal blind. Measuring 49.4 x 75-118 centimeters, it has a reflective backing with an energy efficient thermal coating. We can find it for 19.99 euros. The same model in 97.4 x 75-118 centimeters is 26.99 euros.
But Lidl does not have the exclusive and for example on Amazon we find a type of opaque and thermal blind for windows. It is available in different colors and sizes ranging from 40 x 160 centimeters for 23.99 euros.

In the case of blinds, the work goes through replace the different slats that make up the blind. Changing the ones you already have made of normal PVC or plastic for modern, insulating and thermal ones is possible. At Leroy Merlin they offer aluminum sheets available in different colors and sizes.
So for example there is slats with curved blade profile and very light with measurements of 2000 x 37 x 37 millimeters in white for 2.29 euros each, in metallic gray (at 2.89 euros each): There are also 1500 x 37 x 37 millimeters in white for 1.79 euros and in gray for 2.09 euros.
They are not the only options when it comes to blinds. In Bricomat, for example, you can find the blind slat made of aluminum and finished in oak color with measurements of 43.5 x 1.5 millimeters in oak color for 1.95 euros.
