The open secret is confirmed: Google returns to the world of tablets with the Pixel Tablet

As we say, it was an open secret. The future Google tablet had been brewing for some time behind the scenes while the media obtained some information in the form of leaks with more or less credibility. But finally it has been confirmed that Google returns to the giant screen sector. And it will do so with the Google Pixel Tablet.

The person in charge of giving the news has been Rick Osterloh, responsible for the Google hardware division and who has taken the stage when there were still a few minutes left to conclude the Google I / O 2022 event that began today. The information is not much, but it helps us. Google has confirmed the existence of the Google Pixel Tablet.

Google is bad and does not show us more than a corner, but the Google Pixel Tablet exists and it is official

It will not be the first tablet that Google launches with its own brand, but it will be the first that it launches under the Pixel label that now governs its tablet division. Or rather, the first Android tablet to be launched under the Pixels because in the past we already had the Google Pixel C and the Google Pixel Slate, two company options with Chrome OS on boardone of them more eager to be a Chromebook than the other.

In an event that has not been short of hardware, since the Pixel 6a has been officially presented and we have attended a preview of the Pixel 7 and the new Pixel Buds, Google has confirmed that its tablets exist and that we will soon know more about them. Or about her, specifically, about the Google Pixel Tablet.

It was intuited that the changes in Android for large screens, with the arrival of Android 12L and the integration of its functionalities in Android 13, would lead to a new tablet from the firm and that is how it will be. Nothing more has been said on stage, although Osterloh has been “bad” and has allowed us to see a corner in an overall image of Google devices. The Google Pixel Tablet exists and that serves us. At least for now. In the coming months we will know more about it, as well as about the Pixel 7. And we look forward to it.
