BMW, online car sales by 2025



BMW will sell online 25% of cars by 2025: this is made official by the Vice President of the brand, Jens Thiemer. Not surprisingly, more and more car manufacturers are choosing to introduce new sales methods for their vehicles.

As we know, in the last two years the Covid-19 pandemic has contributed to changing the habits of users, pushing them to buy more and more online. Among the first car manufacturers, BMW contributed to accelerate digitization of the new car market, thus focusing on online sales.

Potentially a third of our customers would have the possibilities to buy a car online, so we need to prepare together with our sales network to make this possible, said BMW Vice President Jens Thiemer.

The vice president of the brand has repeatedly reiterated the goal of 25% online sale of new cars within the next three years. Furthermore, it is not excluded that in the next few years the brand will be able to introduce new services with virtual test drives.

Dealers will remain the main interface for our brand, because the automotive manufacturers who have hitherto based their entire business on digital purchasing are opening their physical locations because they represent a perfect path for the typical customer, added Thiemer.

Let’s not forget that the Bavarian carmaker’s sales continue to grow. The BMW Group closed a positive first quarter with i electrified models protagonists of growth. Compared to 2021, in fact, sales of hybrid models and electric models underwent a sharp increase, reaching 90,000 hybrids sold during the first three months of the year (with + 27.7% compared to the previous year’s data. ).
