NEW YORK, NY – AUGUST 7: The new Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 is displayed during a launch event at Barclays Center on August 7, 2019 in the Brooklyn borough of New York City.

Recently there have been rumors that the arrival of Google Assistant on the Galaxy Watch 4 is already near.

Galaxy watch 4. But Samsung’s Google Assistant

A Samsung Galaxy Watch ad in Spain comes with support for Google’s virtual assistant, with the person in the video blurting out the “Hey Google” hotword. Thus far, it further ignited the belief of some that Google Assistant is only a few days away from rolling out to the South Korean phone maker’s Galaxy Watch.

In case it’s still unclear, although Google and Samsung have collaborated on the Galaxy Watch 4’s Wear OS, it still lacks Google Assistant, as reported by The Verge. Instead, the Korean tech firm’s wearable lineup only supported Bixby.

However, it appears that users are still waiting for Google Assistant support to arrive on the Galaxy Watch 4 series. It should give those who opt to pre-download the search engine giant’s virtual assistant on Bixby to their smartwatches.

However, it is worth noting that Samsung had earlier indicated that Google Assistant is coming to its Galaxy Watch 4 series. But the timeline was overly vague at the time, leaving its users with no idea when it was coming. The Galaxy wearable maker only said that it is rolling out “in the coming months”.

Samsung confirms the arrival of Google Assistant

This time around, Samsung in its latest announcement has somewhat reduced the timeline for the arrival of Google Assistant on the Galaxy Watch.

A blog post from Samsung’s executive vice president and head of the customer experience office, Patrick Chomet, confirmed that Google Assistant is reaching its smartwatches.

While the recent announcement from Samsung’s executive VP is still relatively vague and still lacks a specific date, it gives us a better view of the much-anticipated arrival of Google Assistant.

Chomet wrote in his blog post that Google Assistant is coming to Wear OS 3, which powers Samsung’s latest smartwatch lineup, this summer.
