We’re less than a month away from WWDC22, an excellent time to unveil iOS 16, macOS 13, iPadOS 16, and watchOS 9. As always, these operating system upgrades are expected to be the highlights of Apple’s annual developers conference.
Although some information about him has already been leaked. Here is the foreshadowing of WWDC22.
So much to look forward to at WWDC22
Apple traditionally uses its annual worldwide developers conference to unveil upgrades to its all-new operating system. The keynote speech by CEO Tim Cook, SVP of Software Engineering Craig Federighi and others provides a window into Apple’s future. The exec will show off the new features coming to the Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch in the coming year. And they may even spend some time uncovering new Apple hardware or services.
But you don’t have to wait till June 6 for all the details. Some leaked ahead of the WWDC22 keynote.
Leaked Features of iOS 16 Coming to iPhone
According to leaked information from Apple, iOS 16 will not feature a major redesign. The user interface will look a lot like the current version.
The most significant change known at this point is that Apple is planning to introduce an updated notification management system. However, the exact nature of the update remains unknown.
There will also be changes in iOS 16 due to the new hardware. For example, the iPhone 14 Pro model will reportedly have a “hole punch and tablet” screen cutout, not a notch. And a 48MP rear camera can be added to the top-tier model.
There will be other improvements, of course, but Apple has done a remarkable job of keeping a lid on the leaks this year.
Some iPhone users are expecting interactive home screen widgets, always-on lock screen and split-screen multitasking to debut in the upcoming version of iOS, but none of these features have been revealed in the leaks so far.
As for the iOS 16 release date, it depends on what you mean by “release”. It will undoubtedly be announced at the WWDC22 inaugural keynote on June 6. Developers will probably be seeded the first beta on that date. But the full version likely won’t arrive until September, when this year’s iPhones hit store shelves.
macOS 13’s Features Are a Mystery
Speaking of keeping a tight lid on the leaks, almost nothing is known about the next version of the Mac operating system. It will almost certainly be called macOS 13, but beyond that is just speculation.
The new version is expected to let users back up their Macs to iCloud, as iPhones and iPads already can. And some people are demanding home screen widgets that work like iPhone and iPad.
macOS 13 will be a star of the WWDC22 keynote address on June 6, with the first beta likely to developers on the same day. Given Apple’s past habits, don’t expect a full release until October.
Big, new iPadOS 16 features may be on the way
Apple is reportedly working to make this dream a reality.

iPad users may have a lot to look forward to. Leaks point to a new multitasking interface in iPadOS 16. And one source got even more specific, predicting that support for applications in floating windows is in development and could appear this year.
The expected notification changes in iOS 16 are also likely to arrive on the iPad.
Every year, there’s optimism from power users that iPadOS will get better support for external displays as well as Apple’s own professional applications, such as Xcode. This could be the year.
Apple will almost certainly unveil iPadOS 6 during the June 16 keynote. A developer-only beta should appear shortly thereafter, with the full release coming in September.
Expect more health-related watchOS 9 features
Unlike some other Apple devices, there are a number of credible rumors predicting new features in watchOS 9. The Apple Watch has long placed an emphasis on health and fitness. This year, Apple reportedly plans to introduce new women’s health features as well as new sleep-, fitness- and medication-management options. And there will be more workout types and additional metrics to drive workouts. (The Apple Watch Series 8 may include a body temperature sensor that supports some of these new features.)
Like other Apple operating systems, watchOS 9 is expected to be unveiled on the first day of WWDC22 during the keynote address. The first developer beta should go out on the same day. The full public release will likely take place in September, around the same time that the Apple Watch Series 8 launched.

Mac. cult of iOS 16, announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, will be ready on June 6th to cover everything about macOS 13, iPadOS 16 and watchOS 9.
And while software is generally the focus, hardware announcements are not unknown. There is speculation that the world may get its first glimpse at the Apple M2 processor at WWDC22. And there’s always the outside chance that Apple might show off its long-rumored AR/VR headset. Fresh references to “RealityOS”, possibly the operating system that will power the wearable, leaked in the source code earlier this year.
