In the next iteration of these, I’d love to see more ways to interact with my iWork files: receiving data, inserting data, and being able to extract details from a file’s parameters will enable more programmatic access to everything. Also, Numbers should be able to put data in the background without having to open the app – this experience is a stark contrast to the Shortcuts experience and unfortunately means not many people will be using it.
However, these iWork actions are a big stake in the ground for first-party apps—Apple has demonstrated its intent to make apps like this one that, when it comes to shortcut support, they’ve provided quality-for-you users.
