Musk says Twitter accuses him of violating NDA because he tweeted his bot review Process

First, Brad Greenspan, the founder of the social networking site MySpace, argues that it would have been easier for Elon Musk to build his own ‘Twitter clone’ than to buy the platform.

Elon Musk has been told by Twitter’s legal team that he has violated a non-disclosure agreement after he previously tweeted about how the company investigates bot accounts, he tweeted Saturday.

“Twitter legal just called to complain that I violated their NDA by disclosing bot check sample size 100!” “It actually happened,” Musk tweeted.

Musk is in the process of finalizing his $44 billion acquisition of Twitter and is considering a public filing, including the number of bot users on the platform, which he has promised to remove once the company takes control .

Elon Musk says Twitter deal is ‘on hold’

After an internal review, Twitter told Musk that the bot accounts for less than 5 percent of its users.

“Twitter deal temporarily pending details supports calculation that spam/fake accounts actually represent less than 5% of users,” Musk tweeted.

The minuscule figure is much lower than expected for anyone who uses the platform regularly, including Musk, who followed up on his tweet by sharing how to reach this figure on Twitter.

“To find out, my team will do a random sample of 100 followers of @twitter. I invite other people to repeat the same process and see what they find,” he tweeted, when on the platform. Someone requested Musk to “expand a bit on this process.”

“Any sensible random sampling procedure is fine. If multiple people independently found similar results for the % of fake/spam/duplicate accounts, it would be telling. I chose 100 as the sample size number because Twitter Uses it to calculate <5%. Fake/spam/duplicate," Musk replied.

The next day Musk shared the alleged NDA violation.

Musk frequently criticized the platform and once told users that they were being “manipulated” by its algorithms in a way they “didn’t feel.”
