A trademark has been registered with the name “RealityOS”, the name of Apple’s next system

It seems that Apple has done it again, because in a subtle and secret has registered the realityOS the name of the system that your mixed reality glasses will carry.

Not long ago, in one of the iOS betas, a clue was discovered about a new system called RealityOS that showed that Apple was indeed working on the AR/VR glasses that were being rumored so much. However, not only this could be revealed, as it was also discovered that this new platform, very similar to the App Store, would allow developers to offer applications for this device.

Now, thanks to Parker Ortolani, it has been known that a new brand named RealityOS has been registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) after an acceptance process that was presented from December 8, 2021 and which is intended for the categories: “peripherals”, “software” and “portable computer hardware”.

“There are two trademarks of “realityOS” that are currently active and owned by a company called Realityo Systems LLC. I can’t find any details about this LLC, just like the other shell corporations that Apple has formed in the past to register other names of operating systems. These two trademarks of “realityOS” are also the sole property of the LLC.”

And what does this have to do with Apple and mixed reality glasses? The company of the bitten apple is used to create and use “shell” companies with names of your projects to avoid leaks.

Realityo Systems LLC (RealityOS) is registered under the same address as Yosemite Research LLC, company Apple used to work for and name one of the versions of macOSand which also provides trademark services to the Cupertino company.

This research by Ortolani has also derived on your own commit for the next version of macOS 13 and he mentions it in his report published on May 28.

“Last year I found out that Apple had renewed two of its macOS trademarks: Monterey and Mammoth. I predicted the macOS Monterey name months before WWDC in February. lighter than macOS 13, which is expected to be released on June 6, will bear that name.”

Apple glasses are coming

Some users have begun to investigate and report their progress to Ortolani through his Twitter thread. Among these stakeholders, the team of
9to5mac has begun to investigate and has been able to demonstrate that this trademark has been filed in other countries such as Uganda, Uruguay and Brazil.

But there is something very interesting, and that is that some of these presentations have arrived bearing the “RealityOS” logo. with the same typeface patented by Applethe letter font named ‘San Francisco’.

Another curious fact that is arousing a lot of interest among the analysts of this event is that this trademark and Mammoth have a deadline for an international presentation before the USPTO and it is June 8, 2022, two days later from the date scheduled for this year’s WWDC.

Apple has confirmed the date of its WWDC 2022

Surprised? we also. There are many coincidences that confirm the arrival of this new system and the device that will use it. And it is that what we know so far about these AR / VR glasses are some of its possible characteristics which makes us think that this will be the next great product from Apple.

The rumor recently came out about the approval of the board of directors and the soon launch of these glasses and this new information found may be a big spoiler which could ensure that these two projects are some of the surprises that Apple has prepared for this year.
