The app that “you should never install” on your iPhone (and surely you have installed)

This popular application is a danger to your security and privacy, this expert recommends not installing it on your smartphone under any circumstances.

Although Apple tries to keep its entire app ecosystem safe within the App Store, there are some apps that may not be safe, especially if there is someone who wants to collect data about you. And of all of them, an Apple security expert has revealed which is the most insecure app for users, orna app that recommends not to install under any concept.

As revealed by the CEO of Spylix, Steven Walker, to The Sun in an interview, there is a popular application that you should never install on your smartphone, be it an iPhone or Android. A company that offers lovers data on what their children do with their smartphones.

It is so popular that people might not think of it as a troublesome app.

Accustomed to the control of data that applications do, Steven Walker recommends that, at least if you want your data to remain private, do not install Facebook Messenger on your iPhone. Curiously, it is one of the most used messaging apps in the world, but it does not seem very secure.

To the surprise of many, Facebook Messenger is one of the few such apps that iPhone users should never install on their devices.

Facebook Messenger does not provide end-to-end encryption, which means, according to Steven Walker, that “anyone can keep track of conversations between two people.” When the message, images or videos leave your device, they can be easily intercepted without having to be decrypted.

Better not download Facebook Messenger

But that’s not all, a recent study also found that Facebook Messenger has one of the worst software in terms of application design, which allows it to be hacked easily. In other words, the problem is twofold.

So considering security issues, I’d suggest not installing this. Instead, opt for alternatives that provide better end-to-end encryption and security options.

Comparison: what iMessage, WhatsApp, Telegram and Facebook Messenger collect about you

Among the suggested alternatives, which have higher levels of security than Facebook Messenger, we have WhatsApp and Signal, which do have end-to-end encryption. And of course iMessage, Apple’s messaging app is one of the safest and collects the least data from users.
