Some days ago Honor officially presented the Honor X9a mid-range smartphone that is the largest of the X series siblings. Although it brings quite good features, there are some details that must be emphasized before buying it.
We had the opportunity to try the Honor X9 for a few weeks and finally at MAG we already have the review complete of this smartphone that comes in a blue color.
DESIGN
The design of the Honor X9 is quite light and has a blue color made entirely of plastic that is quite bright and gives it a premium merit. But not only that, in the rear area we also see a ring where its four cameras and the flash sensor are located.
For its part, on its sides, which are also made of plastic, we have the on and off that acts as a fingerprint reader, the volume ones, the USB Type-C port, the slot for the NanoSIM, the mono headset. An adapter for your wired headphones is also included in the box and that’s a plus.

On the other hand, the Honor X9 has a fairly slim structure that allows you to even use it with one hand despite the fact that the equipment is long. Good for it. Its measurements are 166.07 x 75.78 x 8.05 mm with 189 grams that you hardly feel at hand.
The display of the mobile device is 6.81 inches and has a hole for the front camera, unlike its smaller brothers that come with a small drop-shaped notch, which makes good use of the entire panel.

If we talk about disadvantages, the device is a fingerprint scanner, but you can use its silicone case that comes in the box totally free, so you don’t have to worry if it falls.
SCREEN
The Honor X9 arrives with a panel 6.81-inch LCD, which presents a fairly intense and bright color palette, with blacks becoming almost well contrasted.
Also, the display is Full HD +, but although it reaches 1080 pixels of reproduction at 60 frames per second, the terminal has a 90 Hz refresh rate. This will improve the appearance not only of the animations, but also in the scrolling of the text and even part of the video games so that you live a better immersive experience.

The good thing is that the hole does not interrupt the visualization and you can use the full screen and since it does not have a notch, it is well experienced either when you watch YouTube or your Stranger Things episodes on Netflix.
In relation to brightness, it spreads quite well and works correctly when you use the automatic. The cell phone does not prevent you from seeing your notifications if you are exposed to the sun or simply to too intense light. On the contrary, the screen of the Honor X9 is well used outdoors.

PROCESSOR AND PERFORMANCE
What about the performance? It’s worth it? The Honor X9 is a mid-range and comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The best of all is that the terminal does not crash for anything in the world, much less there are blinks in its animations.
But not everything remains there, but it is integrated Honor Turbo RAM, that technology that allows you to extend the RAM memory from 8 GB to 10 GB, so that performance is not lost over time. The bad thing is that you cannot increase the storage of the terminal, this is only done in the Honor X7.

On the other hand, the smartphone comes with Magic 4.2 with Android 11, so it comes with Google services. Will be updated? The same company has ensured that this terminal and the entire X family will be able to update to Android 12 and that is good news.
About your processor is Snapdragon 680 and in the gaming theme performs well in Call of Duty, with a speed of 30 frames per secondbeing the precise pulsations, although we configure that same aspect in Fortnite and at the beginning we see some lag, but as you advance, all this disappears.

Apparently Honor tends to boost its memory with what it had said, the Honor Turbo RAM, so that you can use the mobile as if it were a higher range. It also doesn’t get extremely hot and that’s another plus point.

CAMERAS
The Honor X9 arrives with four cameras in the rear area led by a 48-megapixel lens, 8-megapixel ultra wide angle, 2-megapixel macro and 2-megapixel depth sensor, while in the front area we have a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
The photos come out with good details as long as you are in good light conditions, whether it is on a cloudy day or a sunny day. The colors come out completely adequate, without any shock or falseness in the colors.

We have a good level of contrast, without exaggeration, although you have to press the screen in some shots to even improve the effect you put on it, as is the case with background blur.
In the case of the ultra wide angle, although it has a loss in detail, that does not mean that the lighting is too dark, on the contrary, it has adequate light and you can take advantage of the wide field of view.

Of course, it is not beneficial to take photos against the light, there the problem will be because your images will bounce or they will come out too burnt. Similarly, at night the quality is usually a bit lower as long as you stand on a light pole.
In general, the lighting tends to bounce and the stabilization issue is usually a bit low, so you should consider using a tripod or a selfie stick. This in both the rear and front cameras.

What has surprised me is its sensor for selfies, it is that there is precision in the blurring of the background. It’s pretty accurate and you can set if you want this to get dimmer or louder.
In the case of the macro, you should always have good light, otherwise the sensor does not respond quickly, in the same way the Depth sensor, which has its advantages, but it is good to press the smartphone screen a few times for its reaction.
DRUMS
the battery of the Honor X9 is 4800mAh, enough to last about a day and a half if the manipulation of the smartphone is only to use it to answer the mail or WhatsApp; while if you are a gamer user the terminal can arrive between 8 to 10 hours on average.

On the subject of charging the device comes with a plug that provides 66w, so just connecting it for 25 minutes can reach 50%For its part, to complete 100% of the battery, you will have to wait between 50 to one hour.
CONCLUSIONS
- The Honor X9 is a terminal that has versatility and is quite light in its range.
- Although fingerprints are impregnated, the Honor X9 comes with a silicone gift case so you don’t have to rub and sometimes scratch your smartphone.
- What I liked the most is that the Honor X9 does have speed. Although 8 GB is more than enough, adding two more is much better.
- The battery is another plus point. Many times we want a cell phone that charges fast because we have to go out. Here Honor solves it with its 66w charger.
