Google will remove third-party voice assistant apps and Nest Hub games

Well, if you use third-party voice experiences on your Android phone, you will not be able to use them. Because in a recent change, as noted by 9to5Google, “to focus on Android”, the company will no longer allow third-party voice experiences.

This also includes apps and games that use visual interactions. Previously, Android and Chrome OS allowed users to use voice experience apps from third-party developers.

Another thing that Google will depreciate by June 2023 is “interactive actions”. In 2016, Google announced that third-party developers could integrate Assistant by activating it with “Hey, Google, talk” [x service],

Google is removing “interactive actions” to focus on App Actions specifically with Android. This new approach will allow developers to add voice control capabilities to their Android apps.

Moreover, it will create a whole new experience from the ground up. However, this new Android focus is not limited to just Android smartphones and tablets.

Google said there will be “no changes to third-party smart home integration or the media experience”

The new Android focus also applies to watches (Ware OS), televisions (Google/Android TV) and cars (Android Auto/Automotive). Only the auxiliary smart display and speaker are left out of the new Android Focus Push.

In the latest announcement, Google has said that it will continue with its investment in all-out popular Assistant experiences that users love and love. This includes timers, media, home automation, communications, and more.

It also added that “there will be no changes to third-party smart home integration or the media experience.” On June 2023, all conversational actions will be removed and will no longer be available to users as well as developers.

Before June 2023, you can still view or edit your exciting conversational actions. In addition, you can also create new interactive actions, which are a . will pass through review Process before going into production.

App Actions, Smart Home, Actions from Web Content, and Media Actions are some of the non-interactive action development paths that will be unaffected by this new Android focus push. For more detailed information about this you can visit the official website.

Additionally, Google will upgrade to higher quality text-to-speech (TTS) voice. These TTS corrections will be implemented automatically and will be available to the users on July 13, 2022. No input is required from the users.

Finally, Google said that they are grateful to all developers for building the Google Assistant ecosystem, and they are excited about what the future holds for them.
