This third season of the series is set in the 1990s with a billionaire who wants to explore Mars and we have been able to see the field of a very old Apple product: the Newton MessagePad.

Ben McGinnis, one of the producers of For All Mankind, shared on Twitter how they shot the scenes using the Newton MessagePad for video calls. The team created a special case based on the Newton that fits an iPhone 12 Pro Max.

They also invented a fake accessory that is basically an external webcam that can be connected to the Newton MessagePad. Some of the scenes show the classic Newton interface, but the ones with video calls were made on an iPhone.
