To enhance the experience for iOS users, Google Chrome is working on some new updates. One of the major updates Google is working on is improved Safe Browsing for Google chrome. Along with this, other updates include an updated language recognition model, the ability to set Google’s password manager as the autofill provider, reopen recently closed tabs on the browser, etc.

These changes have been in place for the desktop and Android versions of Chrome for years already. However, iOS users are getting late in getting this update.

Everything to Know About Google Chrome’s New Update for iOS

Advanced Safe Browsing

Equally Android and desktop versions of Chrome, iPhones and iPad versions of Chrome will also be able to enjoy this enhanced Safe Browsing.

This feature helps in predicting suspicious websites and malware. It then alerts users by sending real-time data on Google Safe Browsing.

iOS users will also get alerts about the compromised credentials, after which they can change their passwords and usernames in a timely manner.

How to Enable Enhanced Safe Browsing on iPhone or iPad?

After updating the app, simply go to Chrome > More > Settings > Enhanced Safe Browsing

chrome actions

This is another feature that is going to be released after the Google Chrome update. This feature will allow users to complete their tasks without having to go to the app’s settings.

For example, if you want to open an “incognito tab,” all you have to do is type it into the browser’s address bar. You will be directed to the page you are looking for.

This feature was made available for the desktop version in 2020 and the Android version in 2022.

Google Password Manager as Autofill Provider

This feature is already available for the Android and desktop versions of Google Chrome. When the feature is enabled, Chrome will auto-fill the saved passwords for various sites.

These features will definitely improve the experience of iOS users. Additionally, Google is also working on some other areas where improvements are needed. These include Chrome’s website translation feature, the ability to manage microphone and camera permissions for certain sites, and more.

Overall, Google is working hard to make its Chrome browser look and function better.

What do you think about the new update that will enhance the experience for iOS users? Do you think Google Chrome will take over the Safari browser? Or will Safari still remain the best browser for all iOS users?
