Earlier this month, an Android 11-based update was rolled out for the device along with OxygenOS 11. The update only reached those of you who still haven’t got Android 12 on the phone, even though Android 12 started rolling out a while back. ,

That Android 11-based update included the June 2022 security patch, leaving the Android 12 version without it. Now, a new update is here, and it still doesn’t provide the latest security patches. Needless to say, this is quite strange.
Anyway, this new update is actually an OxygenOS 12.1 update, and includes improvements and optimizations. For those of you keeping track, this is marked as OxygenOS C.05.
This update fixes unusual pop-ups in certain scenarios after tapping the Power off key. It also fixes the unusual interface issue caused by clicking on update notices for Bitmoji stickers.
Another fix on the list takes care of the problem with the game icons, as they were displayed strangely after they were removed from the game space. The last fix on the list takes care of “unusual crash”, whatever OnePlus means.

By the way, this update also optimizes the power consumption of the camera. The update weighs in at 359MB, and is rolling out OTA (over-the-air) as we speak. Note that this is rolling out in stages, so you might not get it right away. Also, its rollout has started in India, so users in other regions may have to wait a little longer to get it.
